The Böhler Phoenix Blau 30 is a high-quality E6013 rutile-cellulose electrode designed for all-position welding with exceptional arc striking and re-striking capabilities. It is uniquely engineered to perform on rusty or primer-coated plates and offers excellent vertical-down characteristics. Its stable arc and easy slag removal make it ideal for both professional fabrication and DIY projects.

Description

The Böhler Phoenix Blau R30 is a versatile MMA (Manual Metal Arc) electrode that excels in challenging real-world conditions. Classified as an EN ISO 2560-A: E 42 0 RC 1 1, it features a unique flux coating that combines the smooth finish of rutile with the intensive, penetrating arc of cellulose.

  • Exceptional Arc Stability: It delivers a smooth, steady arc with very low spatter, ensuring a clean, finely rippled weld bead. The arc is “intensive” enough to burn through surface contaminants like rust or primer (up to ~40 µm) without extensive pre-cleaning.
  • Welding Performance: This electrode is particularly noted for its excellent gap-bridging ability, making it the preferred choice for tack welding and working with poorly fitted joints. Unlike many standard 6013 rods, it maintains high performance in the vertical-down position.
  • Equipment Compatibility: It is designed to work efficiently even on small transformers or low open-circuit voltage (OCV) machines (as low as 42V), providing flexibility for field repairs.
  • Mechanical Integrity: The weld metal provides a typical yield strength of 420 MPa and reliable impact energy of 47 J at 0°C, suitable for a wide range of mild and shipbuilding steels.
  • Industry Approvals: It carries numerous 3rd party certifications, including ABS, DNV-GL, and Lloyd’s Register (LR), validating its use in highly demanding structural industries.
