A high-performance, rutile-cellulosic electrode designed for exceptional control in all welding positions, including vertical-down. Known for its easy arc striking and stable performance on small transformers, it is the ideal choice for assembly, repair, and steel construction where versatility is paramount.
Description
BÖHLER FOX OHV is a “shop favourite” for fabricators who need a single electrode to handle a variety of tasks. Its unique coating composition provides a more forceful arc than a standard rutile (like the FOX ETI), allowing for better penetration and the ability to weld in the vertical-down (PG) position without the slag running ahead of the puddle.
Key performance features include:
- True All-Position Capability: Unlike many rutile electrodes, the FOX OHV is highly stable when welding vertical-down, overhead, and in tight corners.
- Easy Ignition: Features excellent touch-start and re-strike characteristics, even on older or low-voltage (OCV) welding machines.
- Slag Control: The slag is easy to control during the weld and typically peels away effortlessly, leaving a clean, finely rippled bead.
- Economic Efficiency: High deposition rates and minimal spatter make it a cost-effective solution for structural steel, tank construction, and general maintenance.
- Robust Performance: It is tolerant of slightly dirty or primed materials, making it reliable for onsite repairs where perfect surface preparation isn’t always possible.
