Description
The ESAB OK GoldRox redefines the standard for 6013 electrodes by combining “Midas touch” usability with professional-grade results. This rutile-cellulosic covered rod is specifically formulated to be forgiving for novice welders while providing the speed and reliability demanded by experts in fabrication shops and on-site repairs.
- Exceptional Arc Control: The electrode delivers a smooth, steady arc that is easy to manipulate, which is critical for tack welding and stitch welding. It performs reliably on both AC and DC (+/-) current, maintaining stability even on smaller inverter machines with low open-circuit voltage (min. 50 V).
- Superior Cleanup & Finish: A standout feature is its virtually self-releasing slag. In many cases, the slag peels away on its own or requires only a light tap, saving considerable time and effort compared to standard 6013 rods. The resulting weld bead is clean with a professional-looking profile.
- Mechanical Performance: Despite its ease of use, it provides robust mechanical properties suitable for structural mild steel. It offers a typical tensile strength of 520 MPa and reliable impact toughness of 60 J at 0°C.
